Rinas Air Controllers Released from Prison
The Tirana Court of Appeals changed Tuesday the measure for the 3 controllers of Rinas Flora Ndreca, Muhin Mezini and Armando Fezga.
The Court of Appeals has assessed their detention as illegal and has ordered house arrest for Mezini, who is in prison, an obligation to appear for Ndreca for whom the First Instance had imposed 'house arrest' 'and house arrest for Armando Fezga, who was also in detention.
The three controllers were arrested after being accused of organizing the strike that led to the blocking of flights at Rinas airport. Meanwhile, the three controllers were accused of abuse of office in collaboration.
On April 7, 60 air controllers of Rinas Airport suspended their work after claiming that their salary was cut by 70% and four of them were discharged unexpectadly. The government urged them to return in work, but they refused, leading to the arrest of three of them, charged as the organizers of the protest.
