Serbs Attacked Kosovo Police, PM Kurti: Crime Won't Be Tolerated

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reacted after the action of the Kosovo Police at the national level against smuggling and tensions created afterwards, saying that crime will be fought and there will be no tolerance.

In his Facebook post, he urges citizens not to fall prey to Serbian media which protect crime, corruption and smuggling.

"Police action against crime and smuggling in Prishtina, Peja and north and south of Mitrovica. Early this morning, the Kosovo Police, in order to combat smuggling, launched raid operations in several different locations in Pristina, Peja and Mitrovica (both south and north).

These police actions are preceded by intensive investigations and are ordered and coordinated with competent prosecutions and courts. Other goods and evidence were seized, which also present material evidence.

Crime and criminal groups will not be tolerated and will be fought. We will fight and prevent smuggling. Today's police action is over. I call on the citizens in the northern municipality of Mitrovica not to fall prey to some media in Serbia that protect crime, corruption and smuggling and want to politicize and ethnicize it," noted Kurti.
