Some European Union Countries are not convinced that Albania deserves integration. High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of EU Commission, Josep Borrell was direct on this issue during the EU- Albania Stabilisation and Association Council in Brussels held this Monday in Brussels. 

According to him, there are not a date yet for Albania for its integration process. 

"Some countries of EU believes that Albania is not ready yet to be integrated in EU. That is the reason why we do not have a date yet for the opening of the integration," said Borrell.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, said that despite exceptional challenges brought by Covid-19 and 2019 earthquake, Albania has delivered on its promises and met criteria for 1st Intergovernmental Conference. It remains important that work doesn’t stop and that track record is enriched.
