SPAK Seeks Life Imprisonment for Jan Prenga's Kidnapper, Killer

Special Prosecution against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK) has demanded Tuesday life imprisonment for Festim Bexhdili, accused of abducting and causing the death of Jan Prenga in January 2020.

Jan Prenga was abducted near his apartment in Kamza on January 17, 2020. The 49-year-old, at the time died of torture after being abducted and taken to the Golden resort on the outskirts of Shijak.

Meanwhile, his co-defendant, Olsi Turja, accused of "obstructing the discovery of the truth" was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

On March 23 of this year, the trial of the abduction case and then the disappearance of Jan Prenga in Kamza was suspended.

The Special Court against Organized Crime and Corruption (GJKKO) has suspended the trial of Dritan Rexhepi and 6 others, Gentjan Funiqi, Marti Bleta, Korado Keshteja, Artan Doçaj, Aldo Majnishta and Geraldo Martini.

The request of SPAK to terminate the investigation for brothers Bajrar Hajri, Leonard Hajri and Elton Hajri as well as Aleks and Ardian Doçaj was also accepted. The trial of the defendants Festim Bexhdili and Olsi Turja is currently ongoing.

Nevertheless, Jan Prenga's murder is suspected to have been ordered by Dritan Rexhepi and Gentjan Doçaj, due to a drug consignment allegedly stolen by Astrit Prenga in England, Jan Prenga's brother.

Jan Prenga was abducted on January 17, 2020, and during this time his body is still missing.

The Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime has closed the investigation into the abduction and disappearance of Jan Prenga in the city of Kamza. According to SPAK, the defendants will be Dritan Rexhepi, Gentjan Funiqi, Martin Bleta and Korado Keshteja, Artan Doçaj, Aldo Majnishta and Geraldo Martini.

On the other hand, SPAK has requested the dismissal of the charges against the persons under investigation Bajram Hajri, Leonard Hajri, Elton Hajri, Aleks Doçaj and Ardian Doçaj, as it is not proven that the persons under investigation have committed criminal offenses in this event.

SPAK states that the defendants Dritan Rexhepi, who currently turns out to be imprisoned in the state of Ecuador and Gentjan Funiqi (Doçaj) with criminal records in the field of narcotics, at the end of December 2019 have ordered the abduction of the victim, Jani Prenga, with residence in Kamza.

This, because according to them Astrit Prenga, the victim's brother stole a quantity of cocaine in Portsmouth Port, England, which belonged to them, which was imported from Ecuador to England. This abduction was ordered by them in order for Astrit and other persons to return the narcotics. Read also: Abduction and murder of Jan Prenga, what the police found near the "Golden" resort.

Meanwhile, the sources suggest that on January 31, the police found a plastic with blood stains near the complex. Meanwhile, the plastic found in the photo was seized as material evidence and then sent to the laboratory for analysis.
