Student Protest in Tirana Leaves Damage at Ministry of Education and Surrounding Streets

A student protest outside Albania’s Ministry of Education has left damage to both the government building and the surrounding streets, following confrontations between demonstrators and police.

Footage obtained from Durrës Street in capital, where clashes with police took place, shows metal railings torn from the sidewalk in front of the ministry. The railings were reportedly used by students to force open the ministry’s gates.

The footage also shows broken windows, with pieces of pavement believed to have been used by demonstrators to smash the glass.

The damage marks a further development in the protest, which has seen tensions rise as students gathered outside the ministry and confronted security forces.

Authorities have yet to provide a full assessment of the damage or announce the total cost of repairs.
