Students Call Nationwide Protest as Demonstrations Enter 10th Day
Students have called for a nationwide protest on Saturday, October 24, outside the Ministry of Education, following a demonstration held in front of Parliament on Thursday.
The announcement comes as student protests entered their tenth day, with demonstrators continuing to demand that their outstanding demands be met.
Over the past nine days, the demonstrations have been marked by clashes between students and police, as well as incidents involving the burning of institutional property.
The planned nationwide demonstration signals a continuation of the student movement, as protesters seek responses to their demands and prepare to take their campaign beyond the capital.
Saturday’s protest is expected to bring students together outside the Ministry of Education in a further show of pressure on the authorities.
