The Week of Hungarian Culture Opens in Tirana

The Hungarian Culture Week in Albania, taking place from September 2 to 6, offers a rich celebration of Hungarian cultural heritage through a diverse array of events, performances, and exhibitions. This festival, now in its third consecutive year, is organized with the support of One Albania, a leading Hungarian investor in the country. The festival was inaugurated with a press conference at the Pyramid of Tirana, where Brano Djurovic, CEO of One Albania, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the importance of cultural and technological collaborations between Hungary and Albania.
A highlight of the festival is the exhibition by Hungarian artist Yvette Botz, known for her expressive glass sculptures. The exhibition, which features a special sculpture of Albania's national hero, Skanderbeg, offers visitors a unique visual experience that combines the artistry of glass with Botz's craftsmanship.
Throughout the week, a series of live concerts and traditional performances by the Hungarian folk group "Szinvavölgyi Néptáncmhely" will take place, bringing the lively rhythms and energetic movements of Hungarian dance to Italia Square. The program also includes innovative activities such as "Chess 'n Jazz" and workshops with contemporary Hungarian and Albanian artists.
Hungarian Deputy Ambassador Ádám Lovassy, speaking at the press conference, invited the Albanian public to participate in the festival's events, which are designed to deepen cultural ties between the two nations. The activities will extend beyond Tirana to other cities, including Vlora, Durrës, and Elbasan, showcasing Hungarian culture across Albania. The festival will conclude on September 6 with a performance by a magical violin quartet at the Pyramid of Tirana, promising a memorable finale to the cultural celebration.
