Tourists Turn Concrete Chairs Outside Albania’s Prime Minister’s Office Into a Photo Stop
Concrete chairs and a table placed outside the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana as a call for dialogue with protesters have found an unexpected use, with tourists sitting down to take photos and rest.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has once again placed the concrete furniture outside the government headquarters, where it has remained in recent days as a symbolic invitation for protesters to engage in dialogue.
The gesture had previously been rejected by demonstrators. However, on Sunday, the chairs appeared to attract a different audience.
Footage obtained by Top Channel journalist Marinela Lina showed tourists visiting the Albanian capital sitting on the concrete chairs, taking photographs and using the spot for a brief break.
The scene offered an unexpected twist to the ongoing protest backdrop outside the Prime Minister’s Office, as the furniture intended to encourage dialogue became a temporary resting place for visitors exploring Tirana.
