Twelve German Soldiers Injured in Puma Tanks in Germany

Twelve German soldiers were injured when two Puma tanks collided during an exercise at a military training center in eastern Germany, the German military said on Wednesday.

Germany's military police have launched an investigation into the incident, an army spokesman told Reuters, adding that one of the soldiers was seriously injured and taken to hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident with the Puma vehicles, which weigh about 40 tons each, happened at the Altmark military training ground, about 50 kilometers from Magdeburg.

Meanwhile, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited a tank battalion in the western city of Augustdorf, where the 14 Leopard 2 tanks that Berlin has pledged to hand over to Ukraine were located.
