US Embassy Urges Citizens to Avoid ‘Air Albania’ Area before Match
US Embassy in Tirana has advised American citizens in Albania to avoid the center of Tirana and the "Air Albania" Stadium's area as this Wednesday evening is the final of the "Conference League", and it was seen on Tuesday night that riots can escalate quickly.
In a statement, the Embassy called on American citizens in the capital to follow the local media for information and to follow the instructions of local law enforcement authorities for the latest information.
Furthermore, American citizens are urged to avoid large rallies and any areas where demonstrations are imminent.
"On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the UEFA Europa Conference League Final between the teams of Roma (Italy) and Feyenoord (the Netherlands) will be held at the Tirana National Arena, "Air Albania Stadium."
The Albanian government has declared a public holiday in Tirana on May 25. Authorities have announced that multiple roads coming in and out of the city will be open only to emergency vehicles. Numerous roads in the city center, near the Stadium, and throughout Blloku, will be closed to vehicular traffic.
