USD 8.4 Million Military Cyber Security Unit Inaugurated
New Cyber Attack Response Center (CCARC), an investment of the United States, has been opened in the Ministry of Defense, which has been inaugurated this Sunday morning by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi.
Through a post on the X platform, the American Embassy in Tirana announced that the 8.4 million USD center is part of a wide assistance fund to Albania for cyber security.
"U.S. Investment in #Albania’s Cyber Security Continues: Chargé d’Affaires David Wisner joined Prime Minister Edi Rama, Defense Minister Niko Peleshi, and Chief of Defense Major General Arben Kingji at the new U.S.-funded Combatting Cyber Attack Response Center (CCARC) at the Ministry of Defense.
Driven by the #IBM Security QRadar Suite, the Center is capable of conducting continuous operations to detect, reduce, and respond to #cyberattacks against critical defense information technology infrastructure. The $8.4 million Center is part of a broader $50 million cyber security assistance effort from the #UnitedStates for Albania.
