PM Rama's meeting with Vucic in 2015.

Vucic Recalls First Tensioned Meeting with PM Rama

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, While speaking at the meeting of the Economic Forum between Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia, went back in time when he held his first meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Vucic said that at the time they were seen as two enemies and attacked each other only to gain domestic political points, but according to Vucic, things have already changed. He says he is a supporter of "Regional Schengen", because according to him with the opening of borders, citizens will feel safer in the countries they travel.

"I remember the first meeting with Edi, in 2015. Two enemies coming to each other. Finding enough excuses to offend the other party. By not seeking real cooperation and doing things that gave us political points inside but only that much. But today we do not want to know about it anymore. We want to know only about the common future. We want to know about the possible consequences of this future. It is not painful for us to tell the truth. If you want okay but also if you do not want it is your choice. It's very easy. It is important that these open borders are that people will be welcome. In Ohrid, Durres, Shkodra, Saranda, Belgrade, Nis or anywhere. People will feel it. Serbs in Albania today feel better and safer. It is the same for the Albanians and Macedonians who are in our countries. These are the messages we need to convey. I am an ardent supporter of this. The economic and social landscape will change," said Vuçiç.

Meanwhile, Rama was of the same opinion as Vuçiç, saying that they were ready to enter the war for a football match, but according to him, today things are different. Rama said that they still do not agree with Vucic on the issue of Kosovo, but this can not become an obstacle to grow the economy.

"It was a time when we could go to war for a football match and of course it was a very difficult meeting does not mean that we agreed on Kosovo, but how can this be an obstacle to form our economies?" said Rama.
