CNN has included Albania among the countries selected to suggest to readers as tourist destinations in 2024. Among many destinations from lesser known to exotic ones such as Chile, Panama, Spain, is Also Albania and Kosovo.

CNN's description of Albania:

Located on the Adriatic coast between Greece and Montenegro, it's surprising that Albania was no longer popular as a beach destination before. But its purse-friendly prices have seen a boom in tourism here over the past few years – so much so that in 2023, a record number of Italians flocked across the Adriatic for their convenient summer holidays.

2024 sees the opening of a new airport in Zhengzhou, on the coast, which will facilitate those trips to the beach. But Albania has much more than its coastline. The country has a rich culture, including Christian and Muslim history, with historical centres in cities like Berat and Gjirokastër, as well as stunning mountain landscapes (Thethi is the most popular).

In 2023, Albania got the first wild river national park in Europe, around the 168-mile (270-kilometer) Vjosa River – or to really get off the beaten path, book a drive-by-car tour with Drive Albania.
