A wildfire that has been burning for several days in Priskë e Madhe, near Tirana, has rapidly expanded, spreading toward Lundër, Farkë e Madhe and Gurra, as firefighters battle to contain the flames.

The fire has scorched large areas of vegetation and olive groves and destroyed an unoccupied house, while three families have been forced to evacuate as the flames moved closer to residential areas.

The situation has also raised serious concerns for livestock owners in the affected area. Dozens of animals are reportedly trapped in forested areas engulfed by the fire, with fears that some may have died as the flames continue to spread.

A large-scale firefighting operation is underway, involving both ground crews and aerial support. Two helicopters are being supplied with water from Farka Lake as they target the main fire fronts and hotspots.

Authorities and emergency crews remain focused on preventing the wildfire from reaching additional homes and populated areas as efforts continue to bring the blaze under control.
