A new case of femicide was reported Sunday in Thessaloniki, where a man is accused of killing his wife and injuring their son before turning himself in to the police.

According to Greek police, a 46-year-old man, who is an Albanian national, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday for the murder of his 60-year-old wife and the injury of their son at their home in Thessaloniki.

The man stabbed his wife to death and injured their son who attempted to prevent the attack, Kathimerini was informed. 

Following the incident, the perpetrator turned himself in to the police, confessing to the murder of his wife, who was of Roma ethnicity.
