Works on the Expansion of the Ksamil Road Completed

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, yesterday inspected the completed works on the expansion of the Ksamil road, a project considered of particular importance ahead of and during the tourist season.

During the inspection, Karakaçi stated that the project includes the widening of the road up to the entrance of Ksamil, while the second phase envisages the construction of a bypass near the Butrint Bridge to ease traffic in one of the country's busiest tourist destinations.

According to the minister, the first segment is already open to traffic, while the project also includes the construction of a dedicated bicycle lane. He emphasized that environmental considerations were taken into account throughout the implementation of the works.

Karakaçi announced that, despite the peak summer season, maintenance teams continue to work to ensure the smoothest and safest possible traffic flow for both vacationers and local residents.

According to the minister, the goal is for the entire segment to be fully completed by the August tourist season.
