'Gramshi Incident', Three Arrested Were Recruited by Russian Intelligence
Albaniandailynews.com has provided details from the investigative file of the Prosecution of Elbasan regarding the three suspects of espionage in Albania, two Russian citizens and one Ukrainian, after the incident that happened on Saturday at the weapons dismantling plant in Gramsh.
From their interrogation up to this stage of the investigation, the prosecution body has reasonable data bases that create the evidence-based suspicion that they came to Albania on a mission recruited by the Russian intelligence services with defined tasks.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor of the case has ordered the preservation of the secrecy of the acts of preliminary investigations that belong to the statements of these foreign citizens.
The file states that the arrest of these citizens was made after on 20.08.2022, around 5:30 p.m., these citizens were found within the premises of the military facility "Cekin Gramsh Mechanical Plant (Former Weapons Plant)" filming and taking pictures secretly, through special electronic photography equipment.
From the preliminary examinations of the electronic devices, important data for the investigation have been obtained related to photographs of various military facilities and critical civil infrastructure facilities in their current state.
