'Greece Must Not Enter an Adventure to Expand in Aegean Sea'

Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Çavu?o?lu, has made new statements repeating that Turkey will not allow the expansion of Greek territorial waters in the Aegean not even by one mile.

Cavusoglu warned Greece not to get into an adventure, because the ending will be very bad for them.

"In the last few days there have been reports in the Greek press that Greek territorial waters will extend to 12 miles around Crete. Our position is clear, not 12 miles but we will not allow territorial waters to extend even a mile further into the Aegean. The decision of our Assembly in 1995 on this matter is clear and continues to be implemented. Once again I want to warn Greece. Don't get into an adventure and you know the ending will be very bad. We had sent two letters to the UN in 2021 about the violations committed by Greece on the demilitarized islands. And so we recorded that Greece, because it violates the terms of the Treaty of Lausanne and Paris towards us, will not be able to express the rights of sovereignty", he said while speaking to Turkish journalists.
