Full interview:
Did you lose everything financially?
I also brought trouble to my partner. I had the pain of conscience towards my children: my situation was dramatic. My father has always taught me to pay them all to the last penny, unfortunately, the crisis caused by Covid has ruined me.
Did she want to break up?
When I left for Albania, no. I was looking for one last chance: first in Shkodra and Tirana trying to sell hair products and a car worth 100 thousand euros, then in Puka.
And what?
I asked a priest to confess and take my life. I had lost hope. The priest said he could have access to the bones.
So he was the one who proposed staging the murder?
Yes, and he helped me. But it is not true that we took the bones of men from a grave. The car should have crashed into the rock but… we looked like Fantozzi and Filini. We could not push it down.
The name of the priest?
I will never tell. The priest told me that I could go to a place where no one would look for me.
And Vlora?
It is true, I have been there, but since May 7th. The issue of the treasury had been raised in the religious community. I knew I would have to face 27 miles offshore at Giglio.
You returned to Italy on September 12th. Why?
For the treasure. I arrived in Rome by pilgrim bus. I took the money from the ATM and went to Grosseto and then to Giglio. On Tuesday I rented the dinghy and made the trip to Montecristo in the first currency area…
It seems like a story to hide more. Is that so?
Absolutely not. I had to deal with reliable people, they have been studying this operation for 50 years.
And why this treasure?
Perhaps they would have seen that I was the only one who could realize such a plan: I had nothing to lose. We would have done halfway with the treasure.
Albania can take action against you for the crimes committed. Does this bother you?
yes
And now?
I try to resume normal life amidst the many hardships I obviously encountered when I returned. I will no longer be an entrepreneur back in Italy. I am thinking of an association to support the category.
But with what money?
The carabinieri also found the garage keys I rented in Porto Santo Stefano to keep the treasure. They have all the videos and accounting maps. On September 23rd we had a meeting at a hotel in Arezzo. But they caught me.
And what would you have done with that elusive illegal treasure?
I had an appointment with a gold buyer in Florence.
So according to this story, something is still missing…
The day they took me, I went to get it. The carabinieri saw me at Cala Maestra, pretending to run out of gas.
Based on this discovery, what do you intend to do now?
I am convinced that I will finally find peace for my life and for my family.
Cristiano writer in Vlora, Giuseppe geologist with false documents. You changed your identity…
I used it by putting my photo and profession, geologist.
It all looks very strange…
My way of looking at life has always been different, otherwise, I would not have created a football team 10 years ago, Longobardi, without pay, however, anticipating what is happening now.
Are you related to Albania-Italy drug trafficking?
Absolutely not. Those who know me well know what I have done in the past against drug use. I strongly oppose those who hypothesized this scenario.
