About 1 mln Foreign Visitors in Jan-Feb

The growth of tourism in Albania does not stop, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Tuesday in a post on Facebook. The head of the government shared images of the many tourists who arrived at the Tirana International Airport at the beginning of the year.

"The month of February, with 55% more foreign visitors than last year's February, has made Albania host about 1 million foreign tourists in the first two months of 2024 alone," Rama emphasized.

In a post on the X social network on Monday, Rama also said, "Tirana International Airport is on an incredible flight path. In February 2024, Albania welcomed 577,515 travelers, an increase of 69% from last year. From January to February 2024, the numbers increased to 1,202,785, marking a 59% jump.”

With the slogan "Albania All Senses", Albania has once again become part of the world's largest tourism fair, ITB Berlin, which takes place from March 5 to 7 in Germany.

In this fair, Albania is presented with a space curated by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, as well as with the participation of 26 private tour operators and seven tourism municipalities that present their offers and potentials in Berlin.

The municipalities of Durrës, Vlora, Gjirokastra, Korça, Saranda, Përmet, and Tepelena are also part of this fair that started yesterday, which present their promotion programs.

ITB Berlin has been operating successfully since 1966, being the largest Tourism fair in the world. The event is attended by Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro. She called it a dignified representation of Albania and preparation for the year 2025, where Albania will officially be the "Place of Honor" at ITB Berlin, benefiting from a program 1-year promotion. "Albania's representation at the largest tourism fair, ITB Berlin in Germany, through a dignified presentation where during three days, from March 5 to 7, we will be together with the private sector, to present the best of our offer tourism, with a rich agenda of activities that will culminate with receiving the "relay" as the place of honor at ITB Berlin 2025", said Kumbaro on social networks where he also shared the official spot of Albania.

The Minister of Tourism will have a series of meetings and activities, including the signing of the official agreement with ITB Berlin to be the "Place of Honor" in 2025.
