Constitutional Court Accepts DP Lawsuit for Taxation of Free Professions

The Constitutional Court has accepted the Democratic Party's lawsuit for the taxation of free professions in the Advisory Chamber.

Democrat MP Jorida Tabaku previously filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court, saying that the tax on free professions is unfair, and that it affects the middle class.

"I believe that it is a sign that the DP parliamentary group and the members of the Economy Commission are concerned about the public good, about the damage it is causing to this certain segment of the population, and they are concerned because today the state budget has been returned in a list of favors", said Tabaku, in a statement to the media, after filing the lawsuit.

She called on the Constitutional Court a while ago to give a decision in the public interest.

"I really hope that the Constitutional Courts will not set precedents that are dangerous for its credibility, and give a decision in the public good, which in this case goes with the middle class. I call on anyone who will join this lawsuit as a party, who is interested in giving their opinion, from the institution of the people's advocate, and other institutions, who want to join this initiative of the DP parliamentary group. We believe in the strength of the institutions and the law, we hope that the Constitutional Court will not disappoint those who believe in the institutions", she declared.
