Agreement Reached: Oil Workers to Receive Salary for 1 Year
Ballshi oil workers, who have been protesting for some time and went on hunger strike for their salaries, have today reached an agreement with the Rama government.
After the meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama in Fier, the head of the Ballsh Oil Workers' Union, Sokol Dautaj said that an agreement was reached for oil workers to receive a salary of 40.000 ALL (EUR 350) for a period of 1 year, plus social insurance. According to him, 870 oil workers benefit from this decision.
"We have introduced the problems we had over the years. No agreement was reached on back payments. We moved on to the second point, which will be for a certain period of time, until a company takes over. We have agreed to receive a salary of 40.000 ALL for each month, for a period of 12 months, and to pay the other insurances, which amount to 58.000 ALL. We are satisfied with this decision. We hope to find a serious company. The number of oil workers who benefit is 870," said Dautaj.
