Albania-Kosovo Govts to Hold Joint Meet in Gjakova
Governments of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Kosovo will hold their next meeting on June 14 in Gjakova.
This gathering has been agreed to be held in the middle of June in the city of Gjakova due to a symbolism related to this date.
June 14 is celebrated by the Gjakovars as the day of the liberation of the historic city and is commemorated in the calendar of these three to honor the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives in the war for the liberation of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, preparations for this meeting between the two governments have begun.
On June 14, the two governments will sit face to face again in their ninth meeting in Gjakova in an effort to advance cooperation between the two states of the same nationality.
Since January 11, 2014, when this cooperation first started, dozens of agreements have been signed.
Most important achievements are those of freedom of movement on both sides of the border, in the field of economic exchanges, in the field of electricity, in the teaching of the common primer, the joint work for the Albanian Encyclopedic Dictionary and for the History of Albanians, while on the horizon remains the biggest challenge yet unrealized, the new joint seaport that is planned to be built in Porto Romano, a port for the entire Albanian space in the Balkans and rail transport between Tirana and Pristina.
