Albania's gasification project will start in Korça. The news was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, who presented the projects of 2023. 

According to Balluku, the gasification of Fier will follow after Korça, emphasizing that these two cities are the first for this project due to their proximity to the TAP gas pipeline system. 

"We will have the gasification of Albania. We have taken important steps. We have reached a moment where several important projects will be realized in 2023. We will start with Korça, Fieri will be second. Korça has lower temperatures, so we started with Korça. They pay the bills more regularly than anyone. To give efficiency to this project... Fieri is the second city. It will be an important year. Energy independence is very important. Albania has an obligation to its citizens to provide an energy shield and security. We will aim to become the energy leader of the region," said Balluku.
