New ambassador-designate of Albania to the United States of America, Ervin Bushati has met with the Charge d'Affaires David Wisner, who congratulated him on his new position in Washington, the the US Embassy announced Friday. 

During the meeting, among other things, Wisner put the emphasis on the historical ties on which the US-Albania relationship is built. 

Wisner also expressed his appreciation for the decisive role of Albania in the Security Council of the United Nations and as a co-maintainer with the United States on the issues of Ukraine. 

"Chargé d’Affaires David Wisner met with the new Ambassador designate to the United States of America, Ervin Bushati, to congratulate him on his post in Washington DC.  Mr. Wisner affirmed the historic ties upon which the U.S.-Albanian relationship is built. He also expressed his appreciation for Albania’s crucial role on the United Nations Security Council and as a co-penholder with the United States on Ukraine issues", tweeted the US Embassy in Tirana.
