Albanian Cabinet Reshuffle, Parliament Convenes Thursday

The parliament will meet on Thursday, July 28, in a plenary session for the changes in the government signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Rama announced on Monday that he had fired Arben Ahmetaj from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and instead proposed the appointment of the Minister for Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku.

Another change was the departure of Zef Mazi as Chief Negotiator with the EU and the appointment of Majlinda Dhuka in his place. Dhuka will also be Minister of State.

Although the Parliament had closed the parliamentary session for the season, it will meet in a special session for the approval of these changes. It is also expected that the decrees will be approved by the new president, Bajram Begaj.
