Albanian, Distria Krasniqi, Wins Gold Medal at Tokyo 2020

Kosovar judoka, Distria Krasniqi, has triumphed in the Olympic Games "Tokyo 2020", winning a gold medal this Saturday. Krasniqi started well the first day of "Tokyo 2020", after winning all the matches, where in the final she faced the Japanese Funa Tonaki. 

Also, she won the first match with 'ippon' against the Brazilian, Gabriela Chibana, while in the quarterfinals they defeated with 'ippon' Chen Hao Lin in the category up to 48 kilograms. 

In the semifinals, Distria met opponent Urantsetseg Munkhbat, whom she also managed to defeat, albeit with little difficulty. The Kosovar judoka proved to be strong, winning through ‘Waza-Ari’. 

In the final, Distria met the Japanese Funa Tonaki, whom she, like any other opponent, defeated, making the whole of Kosovo proud. With this triumph, the judoka wins the gold medal in "Tokyo 2020", in the category of up to 48 kilograms. 

This is the second Olympic medal for the state of Kosovo, as the first belongs to Majlinda Kelmendi, who won gold in the category up to 52 kg in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016. (Read also: https://albaniandailynews.com/news/albanian-distria-krasniqi-close-to-winning-olympic-medal )
