Albanian Elected Mayor in Italian City
An Albanian citizen, from Elbasan city, Sindi Manushi, has been elected mayor in a city in Italy.
The news was announced by the foreign media, for which the 31-year-old Albanian also gave an interview.
She will be mayor of Pieve di Cadore, in the Belluno area, Italy, in local elections held on Sunday.
The young Albanian woman was elected head of the Municipality, thus succeeding the predecessor Giuseppe Casagrande.
In her confession, she has shown that she immigrated to Italy with her family at the age of 9 and before entering the elections she worked as a lawyer.
She has also said that she never denies her Albanian origins.
