Albanian Famous Singer Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Well-known singer from Kosovo Fjolla Morina was sentenced in absentia this Thursday by the court of Kukes to 6 years in prison for arms trafficking.

During the hearing, prosecutor Edmond Karriqi asked for 7 years in prison for arms trafficking, while the defense asked only for a fine and not imprisonment.

The lawyer of the singer, Aurora Guska, has stated that the court decision will be appealed.

Fjolla Morina was arrested at the Morine border crossing point as she tried to enter our country while having a gun with her. She was together with an Albanian businessman from Kosovo, Fisnik Syla, with whom she married recently.

Kukes Court had decided house arrest for the famous singer, but she decided to violate this order and together with her husband fled the country to enjoy the honeymoon.
