A decision will be made soon, but most likely, Superliga fans will have to wait longer to see the start of the new season.

Most of the clubs that will participate in the 2023/2024 edition have requested the postponement of the country's elite football championship by one week.

Sources near the Albanian Football Association indicate that seven clubs have signed the request to the Executive Committee to postpone the start of the new season from August 19 to August 26.

The request lacks the signature of the clubs of Tirana, Vllaznia and Teuta, who are not convinced with this solution. The entrepreneurs request the postponement of the championship as they require more time to prepare.

The Executive Committee of the Federation is expected to decide within Wednesday whether or not to accept this request of the clubs. Since most clubs have also signed the one-week postponement of the Superliga season, it seems that it will become official very soon.

This decision would come a few weeks after the determination of the new formula of the championship, but also the determination of the calendar of challenges for the entire season.
