Albanian Wrestler Becomes European Runner-up

Albanian wrestler, with Chechen origins, Zelimkan Abakarov was announced yesterday as European runner-up in the 61 kilogram weight category. 

He triumphed over the German Stechele with a deep score of 11-0, the Ukrainian Markovych 6-2 and the Georgian Phartenadze (4-4) and was defeated in the final by the Armenian Harutyunian 5-2. This is the fourth medal for him since he decided to represent Albania and this is a success for all Albanian wrestling. 

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, he congratulated all Muslim believers, while he did not leave without greeting all those who have congratulated him on the success achieved. He expressed optimism about the future and the only goal is the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. 

"I wish all Muslim believers a happy Eid al-Fitr! The European Championships ended yesterday in Zagreb, Croatia and I managed to win only the silver medal for Albania and myself! Thank you so much for your wishes! This silver, of course, does not satisfy me, but I am grateful to the Almighty for this medal and may it be good for me! The most important start in my sports career is ahead, and these are the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024! I will do everything in my power for these matches in Paris! 2024. Thank you, Albania, thank you, Tirana", he concluded.
