Albanians Entering Greece to Undergo COVID-19 Test Before Passports Check
Greece has proposed Sunday that health checks at border crossing points (BCPs) with Albania and other border countries are carried out before the passports are checked.
This measure is expected to be taken to protect border police staff. The news was announced during a visit of the Deputy Minister of Civil Defense of Greece, Nikos Hardalia, to Ioannina.
Citizens entering Greece before the passport control are expected to take the Covid-19 test very soon. This will help keep police officers from coming into contact with coronavirus-infected people.
Moreover, if a person tests positive for the Sars-CoV-2, they will be returned to their country of origin without contacting the police. This safeguard applies to all border crossings in Greece.
