Another Avian Influenza Outbreak Confirmed in Paskuqan

Another case of the birds flu was registered this Wednesday in Paskuqan area of Tirana.

The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that the case was confirmed on the birds in a family in this area, which were exterminated and the place was disinfected.  

According to the ministry, there are no people infected with this virus so far, although many outbreaks are being confirmed recently.

Just a day ago, an outbreak was confirmed in Vlora, while earlier in Zall Herr.

Avian influenza, commonly called “bird flu,” is a viral infection that spreads in birds, cows and other animals. It can sometimes spread to people. In humans, H5 subtypes of influenza A are the most common cause. It can cause mild to severe respiratory symptoms and pink eye. People who work with poultry, waterfowl and dairy cows are most at risk.
