One person was injured by gunfire in the Selita area on Friday evening. Sources inform that the citizen Zamir Kalemi, a relative of Adriatik Kalemi and Aleksandër Sadikaj, who was killed in the assassination with TNT at the Sauk roundabout in 2022, was injured. 

From the preliminary information, it is suspected that we are dealing with an assassination attempt, since a car suspected to belong to the perpetrators was found burnt in the village of Bërzhitë. 

The police informs that the injured man was urgently transported to the hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical attention without danger to his life. 

"On 12.01.2024, at around 10:55 p.m., in the Selita district, citizen Z. K., about 35 years old, was injured by a gunshot in the leg, was transported and is in the hospital, under the care of doctors, his life is not in danger. 

The services of the Tirana Police are continuing to comb the area and have set up checkpoints in all the main axes and entrances and exits of Tirana, for the identification and capture of the suspected perpetrator/s. The investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the event," the police announcement states. 

It is suspected that after the execution of Aleksandër Sadikaj, Adriatik Kalemi and Zamir Kalemi may have a hand in the organization of the murder of businessman Edmond Papa from Saranda, as a sign of revenge for their relative. 

After the businessman's murder, in a span of several months, two assassination attempts were made on Adriatik Kalemi to physically eliminate him. 

In August, he was shot in a barrage of bullets on the island of Paxos in Greece, where he had gone on holiday with his family, but miraculously escaped death after being seriously injured. 

Then again in December they tried to eliminate him in the prison located in Greece, where he was shot in the main artery with a cutting tool by an Egyptian prisoner.
