Attempted Murder, 12 Defendants Sent to Trial

The Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has closed the investigations and sent for trial Gjergj Cukali, known as the "tough one of Myslym Shyri" in Tirana and 11 other people. Among the accused are the two brothers Enver and Ermond Jamaku, who helped the prosecution in uncovering the attempted murder of businessman Gjon Mena in Kamza.

They told investigators that Cukali had promised them 30 thousand euros for the placement of TNT but gave them only 2 thousand euros.

Thus, Cukali is charged with the criminal offense of premeditated murder remaining in an attempt against Gjon Mena, a structured criminal group, destruction of property with explosives and illegal possession and production of weapons.

The two Jamaku brothers, who are facing the same charges for the attempted murder of the businessman Gjon Mena, have also been sent for trial.

SPAK also sent the Jamaku brothers for trial for the arsenal of weapons discovered in Tirana. The Special Prosecution has uncovered some attempted assassinations in 2019, accusing the Jamaku brothers and their collaborators.

Meanwhile, for lack of evidence, the cessation of investigations against the persons under investigation Festim Mustafa and Klodian Kulla has been requested.
