Balla Calls for a Step Up Action against Crime

Minister of Interior Taulant Balla had a meeting Thursday with the donors in Albania.

During his speech he underlined that all the assets of the criminal organizations must be attacked, adding that the State Police needs fully support on this objective.

"We need to step up action against crime. The State Police needs multifaceted support. The Security Academy requires special support. The Security Academy guarantees a police force of the best European standards. We must also support the National Bureau of Investigation, to achieve their objectives in the best possible way.

There is nothing more painful for crime than to strike it at the economic assets that have been acquired through criminal means. We must follow the "follow the money" principle. I want to thank Europol and other international agencies. We must fight hard against cybercrime as well. What I want to emphasize is our work in the fight against illegal immigration. We have achieved good results in the fight against illegal immigration," said minister.
