MP Gazment Bardhi has been elected the new chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, after the resignation of Enkelejd Alibeaj from all functions due to the loss in the local elections on May 14. 

Of the 33 MPs in the DP parliamentary group, 19 of them voted in favour of Gazment Bardhi. 

Democratic legislators who voted in favour are: Jorida Tabaku; Orjola Pampuri; Arbi Agalliu; Chupi Gift; Kreshnik Collaku; Saimir Korreshi; Lulzim Basha; Lover Sula; Gazment Bardhi; Lefter Geshtenja; Zheni Gjergji; Qani Xhafa; Helidon Bushati; Orjela Nebiaj; Ramadan Likaj; Jelal Mziut; Flamur Hoxha; Eralda Bano and Bledion Nallbati. 

Absent from the meeting were Agron Gjekmarkaj, Ferdinand Xhaferaj, Enkeled Alibeaj, as well as MPs of Sali Berisha's group such as: Greta Bardeli; Lindita Metaliaj; Edi Paloka; Ervin Salianji; Tomor Alizoti; Sorina Koti; Bujar Leskaj; Isuf Celaj; Ina Zhupa and Kastriot Piroli, as well as Flutura Açka.
