Berat, Citizens Prosecuted for Environmental Crimes
Berat Police has prosecuted Wednesday 2 people for environmental crimes as they were caught transporting decorative stone slabs taken from Tomorri Mountain.
According to the police, two citizens with initials C.Q., 44 years old and A.Q., 49 years old, were traveling in a truck with decorative stone tiles without the relevant documentation, who are suspected to have been taken to Mount Tomori.
Meanwhile, citizen A. Q., was found on the road axis Çorovodë-Poliçan, with a vehicle type "Truck", owned by the citizen CQ, loaded with decorative stone tiles without the relevant documentation, who were suspected to have been taken to Tomori Mountain, also not obeyed the order of the police officers to stop.
Following the police actions, the materials were referred to the Berat Judicial District Prosecutor's Office for further action.
"Following the control exercised for the protection of the territory, identification and prevention of environmental crimes, the Police services have prosecuted the citizens C.Q., 44 years old, resident in Poliçan, (subject administrator) and A.Q., 49 years old, resident in Poliçan.
The State Police will continue the controls for the prevention and crackdown on environmental crimes and in this context requires the cooperation of citizens to report any case of illegality to the Digital Commissariat or toll free number 112, ensuring anonymity and impartial response against violators of the lawâ€, noted the law and order.
