The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha said Saturday that the Mayor of Tirana left country after the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) said that he is under accuse for four criminal offenses.  

In a press statement, Berisha said that this is an escape. 

"Numerous news reports indicate that Erion Veliaj, the real co-owner of the missing Tirana incinerator, of the 1 million tree forest that does not exist, of the 100 percent theft model with 5D, after officially receiving a series of charges, which ranged from 20 to 35 years in prison depending on the scale of the crime, left the country today at 5:15 am, according to rumors for the USA, but in reality the direction is unknown," said Berisha.
