The local media in Albania reported Saturday that the mayor of Tirana, Erjon Veliaj left the country, just a day after the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) informed that he is under investigation for four criminal offenses.

Veliaj was seen entering in a plane with direction to the USA, and the reports were not clear if he is leaving or traveling for work purposes. 

He testified at SPAK for nearly five hours just two days ago.
