Berisha Says in Extraordinary Press Conference that SPAK Charges are Political

In an extraordinary press conference, former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, said that the arrest of his son-in-law, Jamarber Malltezi and charges against him by the Special Court are based in political reasons.

According to him, the accuses of SPAK are political, adding that the prosecutors are the mercenaries of the Prime Minister Edi Rama. Berisha underlined that the arrest of Malltezi and accuses against him are against the Albanian Constitution.

"Edi Rama, after stealing the Albanian's vote ordered his prosecutors to raise charges against me and my son-in-law in violation with the constitution. As a member of parliament, SPAK cannot stop me to travel without firstly taking the approval by the Parliament," said Berisha.

According to him, in a country where the prosecution is a section of the Socialist Party any decision can be taken.
