Berisha Supports Citizens' Protest for Little Girl's Death by Speedboat

Former Prime Minister and elected Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has expressed Wednesday his support for the protest organized by society for the death of the 7-year-old girl in Himara.

On the social networks, Berisha repeated the call of civil society for the 4 August protest in honor of the 7-year-old, who died after being hit by a speedboat operated by then-police officer, Arjan Tase, on the beach of Potam.

"Tomorrow, August 4, at 19:00, citizen protest for the little girl Jonada with the motto: The boat didn't kill her, but the state did!" Full support for the citizen protest", wrote Berisha.

Earlier on, dismissal or resignation of Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi' General Director of State Police, Gladis Nano, as well as Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro was demanded.

The event has sparked much public anger and reaction towards the police and government, often used to depict how unsafe life is in Albania, especially when it is taken by a police officer, who is paid by the Albanians' taxes to protect, and not to kill me
