Banka Kombëtare Tregtare has been named “Best Bank in Albania” in Euromoney’s prestigious Awards for Excellence 2026, recognizing the Bank’s strong financial performance, continued innovation and positive impact on customers across Albania. This marks the eighth time in recent years that BKT has received Euromoney’s “Best Bank in Albania” award.

For more than 30 years, Euromoney’s Awards for Excellence have recognized financial institutions that set global standards in performance, innovation and client service. Winners are selected through a structured research and benchmarking process based on comparable metrics, detailed submissions and an evaluation of institutions against their peers.

Euromoney highlighted 2025 as a standout year for BKT, during which the Bank combined strong financial momentum with focused innovation across both retail and corporate banking.

BKT’s total assets reached USD 6.7 billion in 2025, representing an increase of 23% compared with 2024, while deposits rose by 20% year-on-year to USD 5.5 billion. This growth further strengthened the Bank’s funding base and lending capacity. BKT also recorded USD 97.4 million in standalone earnings and achieved a return on equity of 23.8%.

The award was accepted by Mr. Mehmet Usta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BKT, Mr. Seyhan Pencabl?gil, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of BKT and Mr. Esad Kamil Çal?k, Representative of the Çal?k Holding.

BKT’s strong performance in 2025 was supported by continued innovation across retail and corporate banking. The Bank expanded access to lending, introduced faster and more convenient digital services, and enabled customers to open accounts and complete documentation remotely. In corporate banking, enhancements to payments and trade finance increased usage of digital channels, with international transfers increasing up 39% year-on-year, reinforcing BKT’s commitment to efficient, secure and customer-focused banking.

The Euromoney award reinforces BKT’s position as a leading financial institution in Albania and recognizes its ability to combine sustainable financial growth with practical innovation and high-quality customer service.

This recognition was further complemented by BKT Kosova being named “Best Bank in Kosovo” at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, underscoring BKT’s commitment to strong performance, innovation and customer-focused banking across both markets.
