Britain, Albanian Sentenced to Prison for Cannabis Cultivation

A 28-year-old Albanian man was sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison after being caught on a cannabis farm worth 63 thousand euros. Previously, the young Albanian Bledar Porja, had worked in the car wash and then got involved in the bar house business.

Porja arrived in the UK in 2019 and initially started working in a car wash, and then got involved on a cannabis farm for 400 pounds a month while waiting to be paid even more after the drugs were sold. But, he was quickly spotted by the police. During the arrest, a quantity of money and a mobile phone were found.

"You came here for a better life, but you did not want to work legitimately and you were tempted by drug traffickers to make more money. You paid to come to the UK and we have established that you were not pressured to get involved in drug trafficking," said the English judge.

According to the prosecution investigations Porja had an important role in the cannabis farm that was professionally built and designed to produce significant amounts of cannabis.

The English court sentenced the Albanian to 2 years and 2 months in prison, while informing him that after serving his sentence he will be deported to Albania.
