CEC Head Explains Decision on DP Members for KZAZs
The head of the CEC (Central Election Commission), Ilirjan Celibashi, spoke this Wednesday about the registration of the members of the KZAZ from the Democratic Party for the May 14 elections.
At the meeting, the list of members submitted for the KZAZs by both sides of the DP was left out of the agenda. Celibashi stated that they are in the process of verifying the lists submitted by the two DP parties.
"We are in the process of verifying the documents presented by the DP regarding the proposals for members of KZAZ. Adding to the fact that we have two lists, one from Flamur Noka in the capacity of general secretary of DP and the other from Sefa who is the legal representative of DP in the CEC. The situation is such that we will have to consult, at most by March 7, on the legitimacy of the person who will have to represent the interests of DP, first in the process of registration as an electoral subject in the CEC.
The decision-making of the CEC, of the commissioners, will at least be strict, based on the Electoral Code. We haven't come to it yet whether it is right or wrong. At the moment we will decide on this, this decision-making will be completely in accordance with the provisions of the law. It will be a simple decision, I have no hesitation.
The KZAZs will be constituted to start working. It's the quorum. At the most suitable possible moment, we will also appoint the members of the KZAZ appointed by the DP", said Celibashi.
