In his visit to Albania Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos, had the first meeting with the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama.

In this meeting, she underlined that Albania deserves to be part of the EU, while added that the Union will provide 1 milliard euro for the reforms in Albania.

"Your country has progressed very well on its journey towards the EU. Your journey towards the EU is safe and real. I enjoy meeting you, your team, and seeing that you are so passionate about your country and the EU. I came here to show you my full support for your ambitions. I quote you when you say that the negotiations should be concluded by 2027 and we are on the right track. Certain chapters have been opened. As we know, it is not only about opening these chapters, but also about closing them," said Kos.
