Conflict Among Minors at School, Fier Prosecution Seeks 'Remand in Custody' for the Minor

Fier Prosecutor’s Office has sought security measure against the minor B.D., for assaulting his peer with a sharp object. The prosecution has initiated criminal case No. 1933/2024 against B.D., suspected of attempted "Murder with Intent," as stipulated in Articles 76 and 22 of the Criminal Code.

The incident occurred at 07:50 AM at the "Mustafa Hoxha" High School in the village of Cakran, Municipality of Fier, in the third-floor corridor and later in one of the classrooms. Students B.D. and H.Xh. were involved in a physical confrontation, while B.D. pulled a sharp object from his pocket and inflicted four injuries to the left shoulder and one to the lower leg of the other student. The confrontation stopped when the supervising teacher intervened.

An investigation team was established under the supervision of the on-duty prosecutor, as soon as they were notified of the incident. Initial investigative steps were taken, including a thorough inspection of the crime scene, the seizure of mobile phones and other relevant evidence, and questioning of the School Deputy Director, several teachers, and the school security officer. The minors involved were also questioned, in full compliance with the provisions of the Juvenile Criminal Justice Code.

The investigative material shows that the suspected motive for the conflict was the posting of several photos on the social media platform Snapchat without the consent of the injured minor.

The prosecution has submitted a request to the Court to legally validate the flagrant arrest and the imposition of the security measure "Remand in Custody." Additional investigative steps are also being taken. The court has approved the request.
