Coronavirus: Albania Signs Agreement for Sinovac Vaccine

Albania signed on Tuesday an agreement with a Turkish company to receive Chinese anti-Covid vaccines. This agreement comes after the Parliament voted with 94 votes in favor of the government making agreements with Russia and China on anti-Coronavirus vaccines. 

Already, Albania will use 4 different vaccines to fight the virus, as Pfizer, AstraZeneca and "Sputnik V" will be joined by Sinovac, following the arrival of the first 10.000 doses of Sputnik V vaccines on Monday. 

"On the approval of the text of the agreement between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Minister of State for Reconstruction and the Institute of Public Health and the authorized distributor "Keymen Ilaç Sanayi ve ticaret" A.Ş., for the supply of the Republic of Albania with the inactivated vaccine against COVID-19 (Vero Cell) Coronavac, created by Sinovac Life Science Co. Ltd. and produced in the People's Republic of China. In support of Article 101 of the Constitution, with the proposal of the Minister of Health and Social Protection and the Minister of State for Reconstruction, the Council of Ministers ", it is said in the official notebook.
