Danish Architecture Firm BIG Selected to Design Tower in Tirana’s Rinia Park

Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) has been selected to design a new tower in Rinia Park in Tirana, according to an announcement by the Albanian Prime Minister’s Office.

BIG’s proposal envisions a three-dimensional structure elevated above ground level, with a series of volumes designed to preserve as much of the park’s open space as possible while keeping the area accessible to the public.

The tower is planned for the site currently occupied by the “Tajvan” complex, in one of central Tirana’s most prominent public spaces.

The project is part of the city’s ongoing transformation and is expected to introduce a distinctive architectural landmark in the heart of the Albanian capital.
