33-year-old Hekuran Murtaj, a resident of Stjar village in Delvina, who was arrested a few days ago by the police of Saranda for "unauthorized possession of combat weapons and ammunition", a parcel with the narcotic substance "cannabis sativa" was discovered. .

Murtaj went injured to the hospital in Saranda on September 20, stating that a bullet that he had found in the field had exploded after having hit it with a stone.

Investigations by the Saranda police revealed that Murtaj was injured in the Meadow of the Municipality of Finiq, by the trigger of a "Kalashnikov" firearm that he was carrying without a permit.

After the injury, the brother and a friend of his had made sure to hide the firearm in order not to be discovered by the police. However, during the control of a cell phone, the police faced another criminal offense.

As revealed by the court documents in the decision to set the security measure: "During the examination of the recorded photos and videos, a video recorded on August 2, 2023, 17 seconds, which shows some suspected narcotic plants "cannabis sativa" was found ” in the middle of some bushes and another 23 second video which shows the same scene.

On the part of judicial police, controls were carried out in the areas and fields between the village of Vagalat and Gravë with a drone and the place where the suspected narcotic plants were cultivated was found, which were located on the bank of the Pavilo river on the side of the corn fields which is located nearby of the hill called Manzat in three equal territories separated from each other where there are 42 suspected narcotic plants "Cannabis Sativa" from these 7 plants were taken with the quality of material evidence and sealed in the evidence bag with unique serial number C20013630 and were sent for expertise.

The rest of the plants were destroyed by fire. In this territory where the narcotic plants were found, a 0.5 L plastic can with the inscription "ZAGORI", two white plastic bags, as well as some clothes, which were sent for laboratory examination, were found and seized as material evidence.

However, it seems that the Prosecutor's Office has not yet brought the charge of "cultivation of narcotic plants" against Murtaj, pending the expertise from Tirana.

Meanwhile, he has been placed under "Prison Arrest" by the Court for the criminal offense of "unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition", while his friend Luan Ramaj is under "House Arrest" while his brother Mullez Murtaj has been left free to the extent of "appearance obligation".
